Jasmine Zenobia Coleman

Jasmine Zenobia Coleman was born on November 6, 2003 in San Diego, California. A beautiful baby girl with bright, innocent eyes and possessing an uncanny resemblance to her father, Jamarr, she was adorably nicknamed "Jamarra".

As a child, Jasmine lived in Oceanside, California with her father and also was blessed to have a beautiful relationship with her paternal grandmother, Jackie, who often flew back and forth to accommodate visits. They did fun things such as attending rodeos, fairs and took time in the water (swimming).

Jasmine attended Oceanside High School where she developed a deep and passionate love for music and became active on the dance team. She also developed a strong passion for arts and crafts and crowned her talent for painting.

A few years later, Jasmine subsequently relocated to Midland, Texas, settling and making the Dallas/Fort Worth area her home. She developed a deep love for cosmetology with the goal of becoming a make-up artist, often displaying her own creative flare for fashion--especially on Halloween. She also loved Hello Kitty, basking in its "childlike" banter and playful character.

Another one of Jasmine's talents was her love of the camera (both sides), capturing special moments that showcased her vibrant personality and bright smile. Whether with family or friends, her gregarious persona always filled the room.

As the oldest of four children, Jasmine was a natural leader and "protector" and shared an especially close bond with her sister, Madalynn Elizabeth. Born just 364 days apart, they were affectionately called the "Irish Twins" and considered themselves to be best friends. She also shared a loving bond with her younger sisters, Sonora Jackson and Isabell Coleman.

The love of Jasmine's life was her darling daughter, Raven Zahara Jaipaul, who undoubtedly held a special place in her heart. Her time with her was well spent--taking her to the park where she doted on her, thereby cementing an unbreakable bond that ensured lasting memories.

And for those of us who knew and loved Jasmine, this will surely serve as a comfort to us for many years to come. And the love that she left for Raven will most undoubtedly become a part of her life's story.

Though Jasmine's time on earth was far too brief, the love she shared, the laughter she inspired and the unforgettable spirit she carried will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Left to mourn and forever cherish her memory include her beloved daughter, Raven Zahara Jaipaul; her loving mother, Shelby Jackson; her loving father, Jamarr Colem Jr.; her sisters, Madalynn Coleman, Isabell Coleman, Sonora Jackson; her paternal grandfather, Jamarr Coleman, Sr.; her maternal grandmother, Jacqueline Gilmore; her uncle, Emal Coleman; along with many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and numerous friends whose lives were blessed by their fellowship with Jasmine.

And although our hearts are filled with sorrow, we are forever grateful for the joy that Jasmine brought into our lives. Her fearless spirit, infectious smile, talents, creativity and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten. Her memory is forever etched in our hearts and her legacy will live on.
